To mark Food Revolution Day, Jamie Oliver has produced a Band Aid style music video to promote his new food education project.
Jamie Oliver has always been passionate about healthy food for kids and famously instigated getting rid of Turkey Twizzlers, remember them!?
Ed Sheeran just can’t do wrong at the moment and wrote the song. Joined by other stars including Hugh Jackman, Paul McCartney and George the Poet. Jamie Oliver himself raps and also plays the drums. Who knew!
The idea of Food Revolution Day is to get compulsory food education in schools, in an aid to fight childhood obesity and diet related health issues in young people.
A petition on Change.org has been created to push support for the project, which has been supported so far by celebrities like Usain Bolt, Matthew McConaughey and Ryan Reynolds.
Jamie says “I urgently need your help to make a real difference. We’re currently facing a global obesity epidemic, with 42 million children under the age of five either overweight or obese across the world. The bottom line is the next generation will live shorter lives than their parents if nothing is done to rectify these alarming stats.
“If you can help me get millions of people to sign this petition, we can create a movement powerful enough to force all G20 governments to take action”. We think it’s gonna be big. What do you think about the campaign? Let us know!
