Rabbit hole leads to 700-year-old secret Knights Templar network of caves



To most people, this would just look an ordinary rabbit hole, but you would be wrong. Head down this rabbit hole and you’ll end up in a 700-year old cave.

Situated in Shropshire, these untouched caves which were used by followers of the Knights Templars – a medieval religious order that fought in the Crusades.

These caves were found hidden just metres below a farmer’s field.

Photographer Michael Scott, from Birmingham had seen a video of the impressive wonder online, and decided to try and locate it.


The 33-year-old was quoted as saying: “I traipsed over a field to find it, but if you didn’t know it was there you would just walk right past it.

“It’s probably less than a metre underground, so it’s more into the field than under it.

“Considering how long it’s been there it’s in amazing condition, it’s like an underground temple.”
