A mother who received backlash for sharing a picture of a mountain of Christmas presents for her children which went viral last year has trumped herself.
Mother of three, Emma Tapping has shared another image this year of an even bigger pile of around 300 presents that she’s been wrapping for months.
Last year her picture was shared over 30,000 times on Instagram which resulted in a barrage of criticism. Many labelled her ‘materialistic’.
She bought her two children nearly 85 gifts each and another 30 for her 16-month-old baby at the time. She has said that this year her children will receive close to 100 presents each.
The 36-year-old will now be the focus of a Channel 5 documentary, Xmas Excess: Parents Splash the Cash, as a camera crew capture her Christmas shopping mission.
Tapping who lives on the Isle of Man said her family “deserve a great Christmas.”
Speaking to the Mirror Online, she said: “What I love about Christmas is the magic of it, and it’s family time for me, it’s about being with my loved ones and I love seeing their faces when I give them gifts.
“I do go overboard at Christmas, definitely. It’s loads of pressies, loads of food, stuffing your face and just relaxing, having a good old day.
“I think they had about 85 presents each last year. This year they’ve got about 96 each, so they’ve got a few more bits.”
